Vancouver Island Energy Efficient Cottage

Vancouver Island Energy Efficient Cottage

An important consideration when building a home is the planning of its accessibility, usability and convenience both for today and for the future. This energy-efficient cottage design on Vancouver Island sits nestled into large Fir & Cedar trees and provides amazing ocean views. Our clients worked with Pacific Homes Build Specialist Scott Robertson to create this beautiful home design. The craftsman cottage home design contains traffic patterns that encourage family togetherness but also allows for necessary privacy.

The two-storey 3105 sq.ft.  home features an efficient floor plan that offers plenty of space and a great layout for entertaining. The main floor boasts a two-car garage opening up to a mudroom. The front entry opens right into the open living, dining room & kitchen that work as an amazing entertaining space. A large master suite on the main floor finishes off the main floor perfectly with access to the exterior deck. Upstairs includes two bedrooms, one bathroom, storage space, and a loft overlooking the entertaining area below. Above the garage is a bonus room that creates flexibility into the design and can be tailored to fit family needs.

Building a high performing energy-efficient cottage was a priority for these homeowners. Our customers were looking for a cottage design that would offer year-round comfort, energy savings, and views from every room. Built with our Pacific SmartWall® Technology, this 3,105 square foot two-storey cottage is no doubt a luxurious energy efficient home. The home was prefabricated and built-in our climate-controlled facility in Cobble Hill, British Columbia.

We can’t wait to see the next progress photo update when landscaping is finalized in the spring.
