We were recently fortunate enough to visit this stunning spacious family house, located in northern BC, Canada. Despite being in a region with harsh temperature swings, this house will continue to provide a cozy and quiet environment for those inside. With 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, and 3370 square feet of living space, these modern family house plans have everything you could want in this type of home.
These house plans pack a ton into its square footage but maintain a focus of feeling open. This feeling of continuity where each room nicely flows into the next is quite uncommon for this type of housing. The covered entrance opens up to the foyer. To your right, when walking through the door, is a children’s playroom, and to the left is both a parlor and a small library. Straight ahead leads you to the great room, which opens up to the covered patio. It is also connected to the dining area and a fully equipped kitchen. Just past the kitchen is the floor’s bathroom, the laundry room, and the alternative entrance through the 733 square foot garage.
The clear highlight of the main floor’s design is the open concept kitchen, dining and great room area. In addition to the glass doors that open up to its covered porch, this space is flooded with light due to its high ceilings and many sprawling windows. With each of these windows facing East, mornings are warm and bright in this cozy living space. The great room also connects to the stairs leading both up and down. Down below is a basement that includes a guest bedroom with accompanying bathroom, a spacious exercise room and an entertaining space.
Upstairs are where the other four bedrooms reside. The primary bedroom is shaped like a trapezoid, making it unique while still perfectly fitting the space and maintaining an open feeling. The attached walk-in closet is also spacious but is overshadowed by its incredible en suite bathroom. In the far corner of the triangular bathroom is a custom steam shower. Just adjacent is a soaking tub, a toilet, and a pair of his-and-hers sinks. The floor’s other three bedrooms are also incredibly well equipped. Each one has its own separate walk-in closet, and the three bedrooms have two additional bathrooms between them.
