Solar Energy Technology

I’ve always been fascinated with the idea of not only reducing my carbon footprint but being able to keep my hard earned money out of the pockets of the big energy companies. The idea of Solar Energy Technology always appealed to me however the nightmare behind large ineffective battery storage and less-than-perfect PV or Photovoltaics made me question the science and level of advancement in the technology of these products.

In most applications only a certain amount of energy can be stored in batteries and any excess goes back into the grid. At the onset of energy programs, homeowners are told they will be given a percentage of revenue generated from energy that was sent back into the grid. This process seems to fizzle out after everyone has outfitted their house with new PV collectors and the energy companies soon decide to reduce the amount paid to each homeowner. This was the case in Hawaii where many homes still had to purchase high-priced energy during peak periods.

I was amazed by the Blue Ion energy storage units developed by Blue Planet Energy. This product has a 20 year life expectancy with a 10 year warranty. You can nearly drain the battery storage completely before needing to recharge. The units look like a high-end stereo system, are cool to the touch and can be stored in any location, even your closet if you wish.
