A pair of happy homeowners recently moved into their dream home in the Gulf Islands, British Columbia. They chose to work with Pacific Homes because they were looking to build a custom design with a simplified process. Gabriola Island is found off the coast of BC and can only be accessed by ferry. Because of this, building prefab simplifies the process because much of the construction is done off site.
This prefab two story house plan features a total of 1847 square feet of total living space. The floorplan also includes an over 1000 square foot unfinished basement. The focus was to design and build a house that perfectly fits their family today but also has room to expand. Two bedrooms and three bathrooms are what this floorplan has today but the basement was designed to allow for that growth.
The main floor is where the master suite and the main living space resides. The master bedroom itself features a skylight above and opens up to the front yard. Just adjacent is an expansive walk in closet as well as an ensuite bathroom. On the other side of the foyer is a fully equipped laundry room. The rest of the floor is dedicated to a vast, open concept space that combines a kitchen, dining room and living room. With seats surrounding the wood fireplace and ample space for cooking and dining, this area is perfect for entertaining.
The upper floor is highlighted by many lofted ceilings. A sizable second bedroom with accompanying bathroom make up much of its square footage. Just beside is another room that is perfect for an office and could become a third bedroom in the future. There is also a lot of storage and attic space. The rest of the upper level is a large loft room with more skylights that can be used as a multipurpose space. It also opens up to an open deck which looks down over the property.
