Home Package Coordinator


Job Overview:

As a Home Package Coordinator, you will be responsible to work with other members of our team to help manage our projects and streamline the building process for our clients. You will do material project takeoffs and coordination of construction materials purchases, collection, tracking and filling of all receiving documentation pertaining to material purchases, arranging of project logistics and assisting shipping of our home packages.

What You’ll Do:

  • Acquire construction related materials for customer project packages using standard purchasing best practices.
  • Electronic key receiving of all incoming construction materials (Special Order) for project packages.
  • Liaise and maintain relationships with company salespersons, vendors and customers in relation to projects.
  • Maintain effective documentation collection, tracking and distribution using company programs and policies.
  • Arrange with shipping for adequate warehousing and storage of purchased project materials.
  • Support physical materials handling when required (operate machinery such as forklifts while adhering to safety standards).
  • Collaborating with fellow employees and other departments (as required).

What You Bring:

  • 3-5 years construction materials handling experience (or equivalent combination of experience and education).
  • A team player with confident and enthusiastic personality.
  • Demonstrate data entry, filing and accuracy skills.
  • Above average computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Residential building experience is essential.
  • Bistrack accounting software experience an asset.
  • Demonstrate sound mathematical and problem-solving skills.

Home Package Design Coordinator


We are seeking a Home Package Design Coordinator for project organization between design, production, purchasing, and shipping departments, ensuring compliance to relevant building requirements and internal quality control, for single-family custom residential, multi-family, and commercial construction projects.

Under the general supervision of the Assistant General Manager, this position provides technical design and organizational support working in collaboration with the design team, production, purchasing, and shipping for residential and commercial building projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle a large volume of work in a dynamic, fast paced environment while maintaining high levels of accuracy.
  • Designing layouts, cutting and material lists for production use while ensuring cost effectiveness through proficiency, accuracy and economical fabrication, while considering inventory levels, shipping requirements and deadlines.
  • Prepare Engineered Wood product layouts for permits and production using Mitek Sapphire and other related design/production software.
  • Work with design team, production, purchasing and shipping  to ensure quality control, accuracy and deadlines are met.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with fellow employees.
  • Complete or assign overload design work of roof trusses, EWP and wall design using Mitek and/or other CAD design related software for projects under direct coordination.
  • Collaborating with fellow employees, managing multiple tasks and assigning work within design department (and other departments as required).
  • Plans and paces own work efficiency in order to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related productivity goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Certification from an architectural drafting or structural engineering program (an equivalent combination of experience and/or education in drafting or design may be considered).
  • Broad knowledge and familiarity with roof truss, floor and panelized wall design and construction.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Mitek Sapphire Suite engineering and layout software.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of reading and understanding blueprints.
  • Demonstrate mathematical skills required to calculate concentrated and uniform loads.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good people skills with strong customer service attitude and proper phone etiquette.
  • Must display and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Join our award-winning design team.  Pacific Homes is expanding and in need of experienced wall panel designers that can design and read from custom blueprints. You are responsible for the accurate design of wall panels and building components for single-family, commercial, and multi-family projects using Mitek Sapphire Structure.

Job Overview:

  • Creates design illustrations based from blueprints to produce working drawings for fabrication
  • Completes and finalizes designs for production and assembly
  • Evaluates designs to ensure that design standards are being met
  • Reviews and analyzes specifications, blueprints, engineered drawings and related designs to determine factors affecting design of the wall panels
  • Communicates with production teams, customers and managers to ensure designs are accurate throughout the process
  • Assists team in responding to questions and/or concerns from customers
  • Plans, paces and adjusts own work schedule and efficiency in order to meet changing company and customer demands

Work Environment / Physical Activity:

  • Work is performed in a normal office environment and occasionally outdoors in a factory setting

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in designing multifamily, commercial, custom & production wall panels
  • Experience with MiTek Sapphire and/or equivalent wall panel design software
  • Computer-Aided Design software experience
