With the summer heat sweltering, there is no better place to be than at your personal summer cottage with family. Whether that second residence is by the lake or near the coast somewhere, time spent in that more intimate setting will always be something to cherish. With this in mind, our Pacific Homes design team created these nine home plans that are the perfect starting point for the design process of your custom summer cottage. These home plans, known as the Island Series, are each named after one of the small islands found on British Columbia’s coast and range from 505 to 1170 in total square footage. The Saturna – 988 Square Feet
This quaint cottage offers 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, with a large foyer. The Saturna’s open concept living room with vaulted ceilings provides a great place for entertaining. The sundeck is a perfect place to sit back relax and enjoy the open breeze.
The Texada – 830 Square Feet
The Texada is a one-storey cabin combines simplicity and accommodation including two bedrooms with ample closet space, a separated laundry room, and convenient rear entry. A spacious living and dining area with vaulted ceilings flows from the sizable kitchen with sundeck off the front, perfect for cottage entertaining.
The Valdez – 1170 Square Feet
The Valdez is a cottage suitable for your entire family vacation. It has three bedrooms, a spacious living room, large sundeck and bonus balcony off the upper bedroom to enjoy.
The Mayne – 540 Square Feet
This cozy, one level cottage is perfect for an in-law suite, get-away cabin or guest cottage. Choosing the Mayne as a starting point gives you multitude of options throughout the design process. With this efficient plan you can be sure the final product will compact a lot of home into in a neat and tidy package.
The Savary – 741 Square Feet
The Savary is a cozy, west coast modern contemporary design that is perfect for an in-law suite, get-away cottage or guest cottage. The large windows and vaulted ceiling bring in an abundance of natural light to the main living area.
The Pender – 550 Square Feet
This country cottage features two bedrooms and a conveniently covered porch accented by a contrasting roof-line that adds texture and appeal to this design. The Pender is also perfect for a secondary unit on your property!
The Saltspring – 505 Square Feet
This oceanfront cabin features everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing vacation including a spacious covered deck for enjoying some outdoor leisure. The Saltspring makes for the perfect lakeside cabin!
The Hornby – 564 Square Feet
The delightful Hornby plan includes a large living room area leading out to a sunny deck, great for all your indoor/outdoor cottage moments. This makes for a perfect Cottage, Laneway or Auxiliary Dwelling Unit!
The Denman – 788 Square Feet
This two-storey cottage’s brilliant design allows for optimum usage in a modest space. The Denman has two bedrooms located on the upper floor with the main floor dedicated to the main living area of the cottage.
