When conversing with customers on their new home builds I will often receive the comment, “We would like to build our new home utilizing GREEN building methods as much as possible.”

- Our manufacturing facilities use recycled power/hydro.

- On average a new home built conventionally can generate a cement truck full of wood waste! With Pacific Homes there is very little wood waste on site, this will keep your site clean and safe. - There are other building materials Pacific Homes recycles: such as metal, which goes to a metal recycling operation. Any insulation waste from our exclusive Pacific SmartWall® Systems are bagged up and sent back to the manufacturer to be recycled and used for new insulation.
- The lumber Pacific Homes uses is FSC certified. FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council, which is wood harvested and produced using ecological and environmental sustaining methods.
- With many building products manufactured with various forms of GREEN initiatives and preferences for GREEN building, we are able to source and supply these products due to our extensive supplier relationships we’ve built over our 33 years of business.
- With the cost of heating and cooling homes steadily rising, who doesn’t want to save on these costs and have an energy-efficient home. With that said, a GREEN building technology that Pacific Homes offers, which is popular among our customers, is our innovative Pacific SmartWall® System. This pre-insulated wall minimizes thermal bridging; this is the amount of wood that acts as a bridge between outside and inside temperatures. By reducing the amount of wood that can act as a thermal bridge the Pacific SmartWall® insulation performance is far higher than a conventionally framed 2×6 wall. Heat loss within the wall cavity is virtually eliminated and a more constant R value is achieved.
- With new British Columbia Energy Provision Codes, our Pacific SmartWall® Systems are a great advantage as they exceed the effective R-Values required for this new code and, dependent on what area of the province you live in, by as much as 44% versus conventional batt wall insulation.
